You are not Hidden!

“Your lives light up the world. For how can you hide a city that stands on a hilltop?” Matthew‬ ‭5:14‬ ‭TPT‬‬

Some of us don’t like to be out there, shying away from the spotlight every time it rotates upon us. We hide and prefer not to be seen. We would rather just serve God and do our thing in our little corners. Maybe, you're reading this and you can't relate at all. Yeah, this blog post isn't for all. It's for those who prefer to be at the corner of the room, hiding in the shadows and simply observing everyone else do their thing.

Soon, I realized. We were lying to ourselves all along. Or, maybe being ignorant might be the proper word.

We can’t hide.

We can’t be hidden. We are likened to light in darkness. Light shines whether it wants to or not. It has an innate ability to shine. Darkness gives way for even a flicker of light to shine. We don’t try to shine. We shine because it’s in us to shine.

For, how can you hide a city that stands on a hilltop?

Jesus Himself is saying, you are like a city standing on a hill. A tree standing on the rooftop can be seen from any corner of the street. So, there is really nowhere to hide on a hill. Can you now see that you stand out anyway? You were born again to shine. You shine whether you want to or not. You shine without even realizing it.

The moment you choose God and His ways, you stand out. You become light in a dark world. Wherever you are, you will surely shine because you are different.

Your lives light up the world.

You shine because you are different. You shine whenever you stick to the truth when others choose to lie. You shine when you refuse to cheat in an exam hall or change figures. You shine when you show acts of kindness to others that they simply can’t reciprocate. You leave them wondering about what manner of person you are. You shine when overwhelm people with your love and good works. You shine whenever you shun immoral acts and every attempt to sin. You shine because the world in which you live isn’t wired to operate like this.

This is why you can never be hidden. The principles, morals, and behaviors of the kingdom you belong to set you up on the hill such that you cannot be hidden.

You can’t hide anymore. If you already chose God, your attempt at hiding was futile, you were never hidden all this while. You have been simply Shining.

From now on, know this truth. You are not hidden, you can only shine more. Now, stop squatting on the hill. Stand boldly, wave your hands, and laugh because you will forever keep on shining.
