IT'S JULY

Happy new month! July is here! Have you given a second thought to this month? Maybe something you would like to get done. I know everyone loves to make plans and start over when the date shifts to 01/?/?.

So, what's yours for this month? Practice gratitude maybe, or take a course online, get a job, maybe you haven't really thought much about it.

Just this morning I made up my mind to fall in love this month of July. It's my month of love and I can feel it to my bones. You know how you are during the early stages of liking someone. The jitters here and there, the spontaneous stares at the screen of your phone in anticipation of that text. The way you fly across the room when you hear a message pop-up sound. Alright, maybe you don't fly across the room. But, you know what I mean. It's called the Love Rush. That's what July is bringing to me.

I'm falling in love over and again. At this point, I know you want to hear all the juicy details. How we met and all? Be patient.

This desire all started this morning. I was studying for my exam, then a random thought just innocently dropped into my mind. My face lit up because of what God was asking me. He said, "Go on dates with me this month." It sounded like He was asking me out for the first time. I pictured myself having dates with God all throughout this month. A feeling of excitement spread through me. The thought of it gave me jitters.

"How do people fall in love?" God asked me.

He wasn't talking about Agape love. He was talking about romantic love. Most people don't realize that they set themselves up for love. They spend time with each other. Spend hours talking on the phone. For others, they set up dates just to get to know each other well. Random acts of service. Sweet soft spoken words of affirmation. Sending gifts. etc. Before they realize, they are loved up. So, they knowingly or unknowingly set themselves up for love. It's just nature. There are some laws you set in motion just by your actions or inactions.

Back to my story, I'm falling in love over again. I'm setting myself up to fall in love with God over and again.

Instead of making prayers a chore, why not see it as a date with your lover? God loves you, so why not? Plan a date with Him this month. Let me tell you a secret, He's the most romantic person you would ever meet.
