How to be Audacious

Updated: Dec 19, 2022

You become audacious by learning how to be audacious. It might seem like an obvious thing to say but that's precisely it. If you want to become a Doctor, you learn how to become one. An aspiring pilot doesn't just go ahead flying planes without following the due process of learning to be a pilot.

So, how do you learn? How do you learn audacity?

If you have ever crossed a canopy walk way, the first thought you probably had was that you couldn't cross the bridge. Beneath the bridge was a vast space of void that simply screamed death in huge letters. It just seemed so scary and nearly impossible to cross. You pictured yourself holding unto the thick ropes and you shuddered just from the thought of it. Others had gone ahead of you and it was your turn. Maybe, you eventually went behind, skipping your turn because you were yet to process the journey. But, eventually you took it. You took that first fearful step.

Then the second step. The third.

The fourth did not seem all that scary. On the sixth step, your eyes were still fixated on the plank beneath but your feet did not wobble as much. Then you crossed the tenth step and felt like a master in climbing hoops. You eventually crossed to the other side and told the next generation of people that it isn't so hard. Lol, you.

That's exactly how you become audacious.

You learn by taking the daunting, heavy impossible steps. Take them one after the other in a consistent manner. Don't jump hoops, you might fall and end up hanging on the branch of a tree. If you do these, audacity will seep into you; intoxicating you like a strong wine.

God needed audacity to form you! Yes He did. Why did He not make everything in a day? Have you ever thought of that? Why did He take five days to finally make man?

When God started His work of creation, He had man in mind.

Right from the start.

He wanted to do something He had never done before. He wanted to create someone that looked just like Him. His image. His likeness. A man. So, everyday He build props around the man - the light, the firmament, the earth, the sea and everything else the man would need, building up the audacity He needed to create just what He wanted.

On the fifth day, He created an example. A prototype of the design He had in mind. He made creatures after their own kind, allowing the Earth to bring forth the living creature after his kind. An experiment to test His hypothesis. It turned out so well. It yielded the results He desired. He saw that it was good.

And God said, “Let the land produce living creatures according to their kinds: the livestock, the creatures that move along the ground, and the wild animals, each according to its kind.” And it was so. 25 God made the wild animals according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and all the creatures that move along the ground according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.

The very next day. On the sixth day, God had the audacity He needed to create a man in His own image and likeness.

It is okay to build audacity. Begin with the most insignificant step and go on taking steps until it reaches the threshold to create the design you have in mind.

You have audacity in you because you were made in God's image and likeness.
