“And God is able to give you more than you need, so that you will always have all you need for yourselves and more than enough for every good cause.”
2 Corinthians 9:8 NLT
Is there ever an end to our needs? I’m not sure it is in our wiring not to have needs. Human needs are numerous, ever-changing, and spontaneous. When we think we have settled one, another arises. We will always have needs that vary based on where we are in life — bills to pay, food to eat, money to purchase resources for our growth.
Countless needs!
This could be burdensome and sometimes makes us shift our gaze from seeking God and His kingdom. In fact, the Devil has a way of distracting us by reminding us of the cares of this world.
But you should know this. God cares about your well-being. He even cares about you much more than you care about yourself. He wants you to prosper in all that you do — everything about you matters to Him. Nothing can ever be too much for you to ask God. He is always ready to provide for you always. It is God’s responsibility to meet your needs because He is in charge of you.
In Matthew 6, Jesus was not insensitive when He was saying seek the kingdom of God first and all other things will be added to you. He first talked about the birds, how they don’t sow or reap or save but God still feeds them because He has a responsibility towards them. Then adds that, are you not worth much more? If God pays this much attention to birds, how much more you?
Your Father in heaven knows that you have needs of these things. He’s not ignorant of your needs. So, stop worrying. Where will my food come from today? Or my drink? Or my clothes? These are the things those who don’t know God are always concerned about. You are different. Jesus says instead of worrying about all these things, be more concerned with the Kingdom of God and what He requires of you, and He will provide you with all these other things.
God loves you and wants you to have all that you need. He loves it when you go to Him first about anything whatsoever. So always ask and watch Him meet every need.
What are your needs? Write them down and bring them before God. He will keep His word and meet them all.
