’’Let us not grow weary or become discouraged in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap, if we do not give in. Galatians 6 verse 9’.’
Mordecai was Esther’s Uncle. He trained her to become the woman she was. He was pivotal in the story of her becoming. Not just her, but also in the prompt deliverance of the Israelites when there was a plot to erase their existence. He also saved the King’s life when there was a plot to kill him. But He wasn’t rewarded for any of this.
Haman, a special advisor to the King hated Mordecai and plotted to kill him. Just a night before the day he was to be killed, the King could not sleep. He brought out his record book containing the chronicles of his reign as king — glancing through it when he saw Mordecai’s name and how he saved his life. He inquired of his servants if Mordecai had been rewarded yet for his good deed. He instantly instructed that Mordecai be honored and told Haman (who was plotting his demise) to see to this effect.
Mordecai had probably even forgotten his deeds or maybe even got disappointed about not being rewarded. But the Lord remembered and rewarded Him just in time. It’s almost like his reward had been stored up for the right moment.
You may have been sowing seeds over and again, serving in God’s Kingdom, doing good deeds continuously without really seeing a harvest. God’s word tells us this could happen but also says we should keep at it with the hope in mind that we would undoubtedly reap. At the proper time, mostly when we least expect, the harvest of our seeds sown will come bountifully and we will see that all our good deeds were not for nothing.
Let’s not be weary of well-doing for in due season we will reap if we faint not. That’s what the word of God says. Keep at it. Don’t give up now. Anytime from now, the tides can change. Things can change in a split second in your favor. The story can still change in your favor. That’s if we faint not. Do not stop serving God. Do not stop sowing your seeds. God does not forget. The book of memorial will eventually be open before the Lord and your harvest will rush in.
