Find Your Inheritance.

'The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, '

Ephesians 1:18

We have inheritances in Christ Jesus. What I mean by inheritances is that there are things already made available to us just by being a believer. Many people are still not aware of the things laid up for them in Christ, so they come before God in tears each time begging Him for what He has already given to them as an inheritance.

This is why Paul prayed this prayer for the Ephesian church, that their eyes of understanding will be open so that they can know the inheritances with their names on it. This is a continuous prayer we ought to pray. The Devil makes a mess of Christians who don’t know their inheritances and they suffer for nothing really.

The word of God also tells us about our inheritances. A prayer life without a word life is an altar of “God abeg.” God wants you to locate your inheritances in His word and come to Him in prayers concerning them. God’s hands are tied by His words. You cannot receive what the Lord has not written or spoken.

This is a season where we ought to sit with God’s word to find out the things that truly belong to them. That’s what God wants us to come before His presence with. He wants us to come with His word. Not tears or pleas or tantrums. Come with His word.
